Austin Kicks Off Annual Hunger-Relief Initiative
Souper Bowl of Caring Central Texas kicks off at Linder Elementary School with support from Fulmore Middle and Travis High schools, competing grocery leaders and volunteers
WHO / WHAT: Join Souper Bowl of Caring partners as they kickoff Souper Bowl of Caring Central Texas 2015 with a pep rally at Linder Elementary School. The community-wide hunger-relief campaign runs Friday, January 9 through Super Bowl Sunday, February 1, 2015.
Linder High School will join volunteers from competing food retailers sorting canned goods with performing mariachi and cheerleading routines from Fulmore Middle and Travis High schools. Students will be decorating Souper Bowl of Caring banners and playing football-themed games.
The kickoff will also include a press conference with Souper Bowl of Caring organizers and community leaders. The Central Texas campaign has a 2015 goal of generating enough food and money to provide 2 million meals to hungry neighbors in throughout the region.
Souper Bowl of Caring is a nationwide, grassroots movement of caring utilizing the energy of the Super Bowl to mobilize youth to fight hunger and poverty in their local communities.
