Since April 1977 Palmetto Place has provided over 5,800 of the Midland's hurting children, girls & boys, birth to age 17 with a safe, home-like place to go. Children arrive at Palmetto Place all hours of the night and day. They have been removed from their homes due to neglect, abandonment, and/or abuse. They are often hungry, dirty, sick or have injuries requiring medical treatment. Palmetto Place provides a nurturing home until an appropriate foster home placement is located.
