This year the youth group of Dobbs Ferry Lutheran Church (6 teenage boys) prepared the children's sermon and explained to the younger kids the purpose of the Souper Bowl of Caring and how they could help. The boys created posters that were hung around the church building and set up large pots for food collection. On Super Bowl Sunday, they held a soup cook-off. Five volunteers entered a pot of soup into the competition and congregants paid a $5 donation to taste and vote on their favorite soup. The boys also organized a football pool. All together, they raised $380 and collected 120+ food items for our local food pantry. Thanks to everyone at Dobbs Ferry Lutheran Church for their support!
