The 4th annual Souper Bowl of Caring in Grant County (South Dakota) filled the Grant County Food Pantry shelves to overflowing after our collection on Super Bowl Sunday. Over 500 items were collected in the churches in our community (the exact number is unknown as unmarked sacks of groceries were left outside the Food Pantry Monday morning, in addition to those donations from the churches). Donations of $349 in cash were received, including $41 from a bake sale held by the Boy Scouts of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Finally, a Thrivent Action Team grant ($250) was secured. The Thrivent Action Team was able to purchase 1388 pounds of ground beef for the Food Pantry with that money; a grant from the South Dakota Cattleman's Association and Feeding South Dakota provided the beef at that price. Hunger got kicked out of Grant County with the goodness of area church goers!
