The faces you see everyday...
"From this project I've realized the next student may not be as fortunate as I am. Every effort made by my group and I really helped me to see that together we all can make a change. Giving back doesn't mean just giving money and food, but it also means warming someones heart with joy when that person receives the help they need."

Every Penny Counts
During the three week period that my English class spent collecting money for Souper Bowl of Caring, I was amazed at how much money I raised alone. I contributed by doing a bake sale and raised $30 from that alone. I also went around in all of my classes and around the school carrying a cup and asked for pocket change from students and teachers. At the end of the day , my cup was filled with coins. Just by doing that, I realised that pennies, nickels, and dimes really do add up.… -
Kim Stokes, Blythewood High School teacher and Souperbowl of Caring project adviser
Mere words cannot capture the experience my students and I shared in this project. My English IV students, all seniors, as well as our Leo Club members (component of Lion's Club) decided to collect canned goods, money, and coats for God's Storehouse in Columbia, SC. We are still finalizing our numbers, but at our last count, we had collected over $2,400 and over 500 cans and 200 coats. We hope to have final results this Friday.
To introduce the project, we watched the Souperbowl of… -

The Winston School's Middle School Student Council Collects Food for People and their Pets
The students in middle school have a tender heart for our furry friends in need. One fact that many forget is that people who are hungry sometimes have furry companions that are also hungry. Many times, these individuals will feed their pets part of the food that was intended to nourish their own body. Our students are filling that need by trying to fill up the principal's office with pet food for the North Texas Food Bank! They have some work to do, but we are intent to do it! Our… -
Freshmen!
I am an RA in a Freshmen Residence Hall at Suny Plattsburgh and last year was my first year using the Super Bowl of Caring as a building wide educational program in Wilson Hall. It was a great success. We had the two boxes for the teams in our first floor main lounge, bought a bunch of pizza and other food for our freshmen, and had hunger facts on little table cards scattered all over the room. We collected a fair amount of donations for the cause, but this year we are taking it to the next… -
