- Posted Jan 22nd 11:07am by Cristina Curtis-BarbeThis year's Souper Bowl of Caring annual campaign kicked off Monday, January 14th with a goal to collect more than $10 million in cash and food items for hunger-relief charities across the United States. Souper Cities in Texas including Austin, Houston and North Texas are uniting together to collect $5 million towards the national goal with support from grocery partners: Albertsons, Central Market, H-E-B, Kroger, Market Street, Mi Tienda, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores throughout the state. Each participating grocery retailer offers shoppers pre-packaged groceries to purchase or the opportunity to give a cash donation at the register. Texas television, radio, print and outdoor media partners are also encouraging the public to conduct their own food drive through Souper Bowl of Caring.
