How did you hear of Souper Bowl of Caring?NorthPark has been participating in Souper Bowl since 2001 and no one remembers how it started.
Why did you choose to join the Souper Bowl of Caring team?Because it was a way we could do something hands on to help out.
What does your group do to participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring movement? We collect money in soup pots and nonperishables on "Souper Bowl Sunday" and we also have a reverse food truck that goes around town as a mobile collection place.
What have you found is most successful for raising cash and food items? We stand outside the church entrance with puppy-dog faces :-) And the food truck helps too.
Was there any particularly meaningful or moving story from your collection you would like to share? Our middle schoolers run the show for this project and it's always great when kids so young can put something large and successful together.
Tell us a little about where you donate your collection to.We donate to Vickery Meadow Food Pantry which helps those struggling in the neighborhood around the church.
Are there any resources you feel Souper Bowl of Caring could develop to enhance your collection? We like the stickers!
What does participating in Souper Bowl of Caring mean to your group? This is an easy way to get involved and do something. It's youth friendly and a cause that everyone can appreciate.
What does it mean to you?I really value seeing the younger kids get passionate about hunger.
