As an economics student minoring in business, Kelsey wants to gain hands-on experience this summer, especially in event management and communications, so she can prepare for a future career in marketing:
She has recently returned from a semester abroad in London, which taught her how to navigate and communicate with different cultures, as well as learning to be more independent and flexible to new environments:"I am very passionate about marketing and communications and am eager to grow personally, as well as professionally with this new position."
She has been a part of a number of volunteer and nonprofit organizations such as National Charity League and mission trips through her local church in high school, as well as Breakaway Ministries and the Big Event in college. By serving the community over the past couple years, she really has a heart for working for nonprofits."Studying internationally has allowed me to think and work more independently, which is important for young college students who seek challenging experiences so they can apply it to businesses."
Kelsey has worked in a variety of fields throughout her professional life, from retail to human resources, restaurants and summer camps. She is passionate about youth groups and hopes to continue influencing and working with them throughout her time at Souper Bowl of Caring. She has also kept busy with her university's sorority, leading as the marketing chair for past events and being on the risk management committee.
Her first day in the office included listening in on a national staff conference call, which was an appropriate introduction to this week's tasks and goals:
She is excited for what is in store for her this summer and is ready to work hard to make this the best year yet at Souper Bowl of Caring!"I believe Souper Bowl of Caring will provide me with the skills and resources to be successful, not only within this company, but for future positions after I graduate."
