SCBT Gears Up for Annual Souper Bowl of Caring
The Souper Bowl of Caring is now underway for the 7th annual campaign at SCBT. Bank branches statewide will collect funds through the end of February.
The 2012 competition involves a new twist in that banking affiliates in three states will have teams competing - South Carolina Bank and Trust in South Carolina, North Carolina Bank and Trust in North Carolina, and Community Bank & Trust in Georgia. Each bank will select a charity that feeds hungry people in their local community and the branch that collects the most wins an additional $1,500 for their selected charity.
"What makes the Souper Bowl of Caring a good fit for SCBT and its affiliated companies is that 100% of the funds raised are donated to charities in local communities," said Mike Coggin, upstate regional president of SCBT. "This is another fine example of the dedication of our staff, our customers, and our friends in all the communities we call home. In the six years SCBT has participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring project, we have, collectively, raised $232,602. That makes us very proud. We're expecting even bigger and better results this year."
